Members of the CCSFW attended the National Christ Child Society Convention in Milwaukee Sept. 27 -29.
There were over 100 chapter members in attendance. 37 chapters were represented. There were educational seminars and takeaway sessions. The seminars focused on communications and how we as local chapters can better tell our story and what we do as an organization. There was also discussion oh how to grow memberships and what has been successful. The ladies in attendance networked about fundraisers and what worked for them.
The most exciting thing however was the the Literacy Committee of our Chapter won the Red Wagon award for the work that is being done in 2 local schools through our Reading Rangers program. Volunteers go into the schools and read to preschool children and then make a craft that pertains to the book. It is such a rewarding program and the children love having "grandmas" come and read to them. If you would like to volunteer you may get in touch with Lori Neuman or Barb Niezer.
There was also time for socializing with other members. All in all it was a great learning and fun time had by all.
